2 Drive Well courses meet the requirements of the "Approved Code of Practice for Training Operators and Instructors of Powered Industrial Lift Trucks" (Forklifts) as approved by Worksafe New Zealand. (Click the link below) We also provide the assessment for the gaining of the NZTA "F" forklift endorsement
Our training courses are designed to improve operator skills, knowledge, and safety awareness.
All courses include theory on basic forklift specifications, load centers, stability, general safety - dos and don'ts s of forklift operating, and a practical session comprised of a general course designed to simulate on-the-job handling situations faced in everyday forklift operation.

​Operator competency certification

Operate a Powered Industrial Lift Truck (Forklift)People who complete this assessment are able to demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a forklift; perform a pre-operational inspection and start up procedure for a forklift; demonstrate practical forklift skills; and park and shut down a forklift. The Operator Competency Certification is a prerequisite for the operation of forklifts in the workplace.  Graduates from the course can be credited with this Unit Standard to their NZQA Record of Learning in addition to receiving the course certificate if they wish.

You can drive the following forklifts on these licenses
A Class 1 driver license (with an F endorsement) covers forklifts with a gross laden weight of up to 18,000kg.
A Class 2 driver licence (with an F endorsement) covers forklifts with a gross laden weight exceeding 18,000kg.
If you drive a forklift on the road, you must have an F endorsement on your driver licence. Please note that the licence endorsement and licence class systems work together.

F Endorsement Course

This course is a New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) approved course for driver licensing purposes for operation of a forklift on the roadway. A NZTA certificate will be issued once the applicant has meet the required standard. The assessment for the F endorsement is Unit Standard 18496 "Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving a forklift on a road for endorsement F (Forklifts)
The cost for the F endorsement as a standalone is $220.00 incl GST
NZQA Credit processing included as required by NZTA

You must have proof of a current OSH certificate to qualify for this special rate, see information below
This certification must be renewed every 3 years.
An OSH certificate must not have expired more than 3 months prior to course date. Proof of prior training required if not a returning Drivetrain Driving School customer. If this cannot be supplied, a full charge will apply.
Participants achieving a satisfactory result in both theory and practical assessments will receive a "Forklift Certificate of Competency" and wallet size OSH operator's certificate valid for 3 years.
